What happens in a children’s headshots session?
A chat and a plan : your session will start with a cup of tea (or another drink) and a chat, and I’ll make sure I know exactly what you and your child are looking for so that we are working together on this. I like our sessions to be collaborative, so we’ll agree together which outfits they’ll wear with which backdrops and you can fill me in on anything I need to know. It’s usually easier to build a rapport with a model during a shoot without their parent being present, but this is only if they are comfortable with this. If they prefer their adult to be present for the shoot then this is absolutely fine with me. You can rest assured that I am DBS-check and approved.
We’ll put on music : some children love to bring their favourite playlist and fill the studio with their tunes while we shoot.
We’ll start shooting ; I’ll suggest different poses, mixing and matching the chairs, the backdrops and the outfits so we end up with a whole range of looks
After our session I’ll send you a gallery of photos to choose from. You can do this fast if you’re in a rush, or take your time and get some other opinions. I don’t mind. Once you’ve chosen your favourites, I’ll then colour correct and edit your chosen images to perfection and send you the digital files.
I will send you the gallery within three days of the shoot, unless you let me know that you’ll need them sooner. Once you’ve selected your images I’ll send you the colour-corrected, retouched final images within 48 hours, unless you let me know you’ll need them sooner.
Each package includes a specific number of photos, but you are always welcome to order more at a cost of £30 per image.
